Scott Chapin

Director of Infrastructure Operations

Scott Chapin is the Director of Infrastructure Operations at DreamWorks Animation, where he oversees the teams that manage data centers, networking, storage and servers across the enterprise. Besides keeping the studio running at full speed on multiple concurrent projects, he and his team spearhead new initiatives that cover everything from high performance computing to the challenges of remote work.

Scott has been at DreamWorks for almost 25 years. In that time, he held roles with the help desk, software QA, application support, was embedded with production departments, and handled system administrator duties of all stripes prior to moving into a management/director role. He was involved, in some way, with every feature film produced in the studio's history. Prior to DreamWorks, Scott worked as a studio support engineer for Cambridge Animation Systems, whose Animo 2D animation software was acquired and heavily modified by DreamWorks.

Scott is excited to be part of the DreamWorks & Lenovo alliance team, and has been participating in several events, customer meetings and conferences in support, and has been working closely with the various tech divisions in Lenovo to help with procurement and product and process development. Scott earned a B.A. from California State University, Northridge.
