What is not covered by this Limited Warranty?

  1. Products located and/or operated outside the 50 states
  2. Products purchased from anyone other than Howard Technology Solutions or an authorized reseller/agent
  3.  Expendable parts (Note: Batteries provided for your notebook are covered for (1) year from the date we ship your system)
  4. Accessories or peripherals not sold as part of a Howard branded system. The only accessories and peripherals covered that are sold as part of a Howard branded system are the monitor, mouse, and keyboard.
  5. Software products
  6. Routine cleaning, cosmetic, and mechanical wear
  7. On-site support for monitor, keyboard, mouse, and speakers
  8. Damage from the following:
  •  Misuse, abuse, neglect, acts of God, fire, vandalism, civil disturbances, or war
  • Use outside of the product’s design usage or parameters • Use of non-Howard Technology Solutions manufactured or sold parts.
  • Installation of parts not approved by Howard Technology Solutions
  • Repair or replacement by a non-Howard Technology Solutions authorized service partner

Depending on the terms of your agreement, you will receive a combination of one or more of the following: telephone support, parts-only replacement, carry -in service, or on-site service.

How do I get technical support?

With Howard Technology Solutions, you receive FREE telephone technical support 24/7, 365 days a year for as long as you own your Howard Technology Solutions product. Our friendly, US-based team of experts will answer your questions about the product, hardware setup, or installation and with telephone hold times typically less than 1 minute. To expedite our service to you, please gather the following information before calling our Technical Support Center at (888) 323-3151:

  • Product serial number(s) - on the side or bottom of machine
  • Add-on boards of hardware installed on the product
  • Third-party software installed on the product
  • Operating system type and revision level
  • Content of any error messages
  • Explanation of the problem and/or detailed, specific questions

Howard Industries, Inc. Technology Division Limited Warranty

1. Limited Warranty and/or Next Business Day (NBD) On-site Response:
Howard Industries, Inc. (hereinafter “Howard”) warrants that the Howard branded product(s) purchased by you will be free from defects in materials and/or workmanship under normal use for the purchased warranty period starting from the date of product shipment with the following EXCEPTIONS:
a. Defective CDs, DVDs, diskettes or other software media that are delivered with your product will be replaced by Howard or its suppliers for twenty-one (21) days from the date you receive your product.
b. Howard DOES NOT WARRANT ANY SOFTWARE PRODUCTS, INCLUDING THE OPERATING SYSTEMS PREINSTALLED BY HOWARD TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS.
c. Defective accessories or peripherals bundled with a Howard branded product (limited to the monitor, keyboard, and mouse) are subject to the terms of the warranty duration and type purchased from Howard Technology Solutions. All other defective accessories or peripherals, other than software, that are delivered with your product will be replaced by Howard or its suppliers for twenty-one (21) days from the date you received your product. Manufacturers’ warranty applies after initial twenty-one (21) days.
d. If purchased, next business day on-site warranty service is provided for the time period listed on the packing slip or invoice and begins the date of product shipment for the Howard Technology Solutions’ products. The hours of next business day on-site warranty service will be provided Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time excluding Howard Technology Solutions’ holidays as published on the Howard Technology Solutions’ website at www.Howard.com. Second business day response at times may be required in case of delays beyond Howard Technology Solutions’ control (such as acts of God or calls reported to Technical Support after 3pm, Central Standard Time). A Howard authorized third party vendor may provide on-site service. Note: Some repairs may require the unit be returned to Howard for depot service at an authorized service center.
e. On-site warranty service is not available for Field Replaceable Units (FRU) such as monitors, keyboards, modular hard drives, mice or similar external components of the product.

To obtain service under this limited warranty, you must contact Howard Technical Support within the warranty period. Technical Support personnel will work to resolve issues professionally and quickly, however, you must provide reasonable assistance in order to facilitate and/or receive support services. If Howard Technical Support is unable to correct the problem they may authorize a replacement part or parts, on-site service or a product replacement. ON-SITE SERVICE AND PRODUCT REPLACEMENTS ARE CONSIDERED OPTIONS OF LAST RESORT. All replaced parts must be returned to Howard. You will be invoiced for defective replacement parts not returned to Howard within two (2) weeks of receipt of the replacement parts.

Howard does not warrant damages or defects to the Howard product under the following conditions: misuse, abuse, neglect, acts of God, fire, vandalism, civil disturbances, or war, unauthorized service or repair of the Howard products, damage from electrical power problems, usage of parts or components not supplied by Howard, failure to follow product instructions and guidelines, unauthorized changes to the Howard, shipping damage (other than during original shipment from Howard), failure to perform preventative maintenance, or damage caused by peripherals or software or from other external causes.

Howard will, under the warranty period, repair or replace defective parts with new or serviceable used parts. This determination will be at the sole discretion of Howard. Howard owns all removed and repaired parts from the Howard product. The repair or replacement of a Howard product does not extend the warranty of said computer product. Spare parts are warranted to be free from defects in material or workmanship for twenty-one (21) days or for the remainder of the Limited Warranty Period (whichever is longer) of the Howard product in which they are installed.

This limited warranty is extended only to the original purchaser and is non-transferable. In addition, this warranty is only valid within the United States of America. For this warranty to be valid, the product must have been purchased directly from Howard or from an authorized representative of Howard.

THE WARRANTIES SET FORTH HEREIN ARE IN LIEU OF ANY AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED INCLUDING THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR USE. HOWARD DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR USE. EXCEPT FOR THE OBLIGATIONS SET FORTH IN THIS WARRANTY STATEMENT HOWARD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY LIABILITY FOR LOSSES IN PROFITS, LOSSES IN REVENUE, LOSSES IN SAVINGS, LOSSES OF DATA, DOWNTIME, COSTS OF CAPITAL, COST OF REPLACEMENT EQUIPMENT (TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT), COSTS OF TIME, THIRD PARTIES’ CLAIMS OR INJURY TO PROPERTY.

The limit of the liability of Howard to repair its computer product after a reasonable amount of time and a reasonable number of attempts shall be the replacement of the Howard product or a refund of the original purchase price of the computer product. The decision regarding replacement versus refund shall be at the sole discretion of Howard. The above options are the only remedies for any perceived breach of warranty by Howard.

In states that do not allow limitations on implied warranties or on the length of implied warranties, the above limitations may not apply to you. In states that do not allow for the exclusion or limitation of incidental and consequential damages, the above limitations and exclusions may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. To determine other rights you may have, review your applicable state laws.

2. Warranty Extensions and Upgrades
Howard Technology Solutions currently offers various options to extend or upgrade the Limited Warranty of the Howard branded product. This extension is only available for purchase during the first year warranty coverage period from Howard Technology Solutions. Call 1-888-912-3151 for pricing and availability.

3. Post-Warranty Parts Availability:
Howard is available to assist with parts acquisition after the warranty period. Call 888.912.3151 for post-warranty assistance.
Howard Kiosk Limited Warranty and Return Policy

Limited Warranty

Howard Technology Solutions, a division of Howard Industries, Inc. (“Howard”) warrants to the original purchaser that its Kiosks will be free from defects in materials and/or workmanship under normal use and service (“Limited Warranty”) for the specific warranty period purchased beginning on the date of delivery (“Warranty Period”). Howard will, during the Warranty Period, restore the Kiosk to good working order by repairing defective parts, components, and/or hardware (collectively, “Parts”) or, at Howard’s election, by replacing defective Parts with new, serviceable and/or comparable used Parts. Replacement Parts required to correct any covered defects during the Warranty Period will be supplied at no charge and will be supported by phone consultation with Howard technical support representatives.

What is not covered by this Limited Warranty?

  1. Products located and/or operated outside the contiguous United States, Alaska, and Hawaii
  2. Products purchased from anyone other than Howard or an authorized reseller/agent of Howard
  3. Accessories or peripherals or other parts not sold as part of a Howard-branded system
  4. Materials provided by the customer for inclusion in or on the Kiosk
  5. User-installed hardware and software products
  6. Routine cleaning
  7. Cosmetic and mechanical wear
  8. Damage caused by teh following
    • Misuse, abuse, neglect, modifications, improper operating environment, failure to perform routine maintenance or tampering with installed compents, Acts of God, fire, vandalism, civil disturbances, or war
    • Failure to follow product instructions and/or guidelines
    • Failure to perform preventive maintenance
    • External electrical power problems
    • Use outside of the parameters for which the product was designed
    • Parts installed in or on the product which were not approved by Howard
    • Repairs or replacements performed by anyone other than Howard personnel or a Howard authorized service partner
    • Other external causes
To obtain services under this Limited Warranty, Howard technical support must be contacted within the Warranty Period. Howard's toll-free technical support services are available at 888-323-3151, seven (7) days a week, 24 hours a day, excluding holidays as published on www.Howard.com. Technical support personnel at Howard’s help desk will work to resolve issues in a professional and timely manner; however, reasonable assistance must be provided by the customer to facilitate and receive support services. It is the responsibility of the customer requesting services to gain access to the Part(s) in question, to contact the Howard help desk and to perform any basic troubleshooting procedures which may be directed telephonically by a Howard technical support representative. In the event that Howard technical support is unable to return a product to proper working order, Howard may authorize the replacement of the defective Part(s), with PRODUCT REPLACEMENT CONSIDERED AN OPTION OF LAST RESORT. The determination of the repair or replacement method utilized will be in the discretion of Howard. Howard will be the sole owner of all replaced Parts or products. The repair or replacement of Parts or products will not extend or modify this Limited Warranty. Replaced parts and products must be returned to Howard. The customer will be billed for the total cost of any replaced parts and/or product not returned. In the event that a replaced Part or product is found not to be defective, the customer will be responsible for all applicable shipping and service charges.

This Limited Warranty is non-transferable.

THE WARRANTIES EXPRESSLY SET FORTH HEREIN ARE IN LIEU OF, AND HOWARD HEREBY DISCLAIMS, ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

HOWARD’S ENTIRE AND EXCLUSIVE LIABILITY, AND CUSTOMER’S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY, FOR BREACH OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IS EXPRESSLY LIMITED TO RESTORATION OF THE KIOSK TO GOOD WORKING ORDER BY REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF THE DEFECTIVE PARTS OR, IF ALL REASONABLE ATTEMPTS TO RESTORE THE KIOSK HAVE BEEN EXHAUSTED, THEN, AT HOWARD’S ELECTION, EITHER REPLACEMENT OF THE KIOSK OR A REFUND OF THE PURCHASE PRICE (LESS ANY APPLICABLE TAXES, CHARGES OR OTHER FEES). HOWARD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSSES IN PROFITS, LOSSES IN REVENUE, LOSSES IN SAVINGS, LOSSES OF DATA, DOWNTIME, COSTS OF CAPITAL, COSTS OF REPLACEMENT EQUIPMENT (TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT), COSTS OF TIME, THIRD PARTY CLAIMS, AND INJURY TO PROPERTY.

Warranty Upgrades available at the time of purchase

Various options to modify and/or upgrade the Limited Warranty are available at the time of purchase. Call 1-888-912-3151 and talk to your sales representative for more details and pricing.

Next day service:
If purchased, next business day on-site warranty service is provided for the coverage period purchased (listed on the packing slip or invoice), which begins as of the date of delivery of the product. Howard's toll-free technical support services must first be contacted at 888-323-3151, seven (7) days a week, 24 hours a day, excluding holidays as published on www.Howard.com. Technical support personnel at Howard’s help desk will first work to resolve issues. Onsite service will be dispatched if it is deemed necessary after telephonic and electronic troubleshooting methods have been completed. The dispatched technician will contact and schedule a time convenient with the customer to take place during normal business hours. Onsite service will normally be scheduled the next business day after the arrival at the customer site of parts deemed necessary for the repair, with the hours of available service being Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST excluding holidays as published on www.Howard.com. Note that responding to calls received after 3:00 PM or delays because of the lack of availability of parts, unit location, or other factors beyond Howard’s control may impact onsite response time and Howard’s ability to provide the on-site service on the next business day. A Howard-authorized third party vendor may provide the on-site service. Contact personnel and all keys (to include any needed for internal components or access panels) must be provided by the customer and available at the time of the scheduled onsite visit. If the on-site technician arrives at the scheduled appointment time and is unable to perform the required repair due to the site or equipment being un-accessible, the customer will be responsible for all associated costs.

Warranty Extensions and Upgrades available after Purchase

Howard offers various options to extend or upgrade the Limited Warranty available after purchase. Extensions and upgrades are only available for purchase for units currently covered under an existing warranty plan purchased from Howard Technology Solutions. Warranty extensions are available up to 5 years maximum from the date of initial purchase of the kiosk. A service call will have to be performed first at the customers expense to review the unit(s) requesting to be covered under additional warranty terms. This will allow assessment of the unit(s), components, maintenance performed, and other factors that will determine the warranty extension or upgrade to be allowed if possible and the associated cost. Post-Warranty Parts Availability

Following the Warranty Period, Parts may be purchased from Howard, subject to availability. Howard does not guarantee the availability of replacement Parts for out-of-warranty products. Howard may be available to assist with Parts acquisition after the warranty period. Call 888.912.3151 for post-warranty assistance.

Returns

All orders placed are final and may not be changed or cancelled unless approved in writing by Howard. Howard may condition its acceptance of a change or cancellation on the customer being liable for all costs incurred by Howard with respect to such order including, without limitation, products and/or materials purchased and any associated processing and handling costs.

Freight Claims

  1. Claims for damage, shortage, or errors in material must be reported as follows:
    1. Claims for damage and/or shortage caused by shipping must be made by the consignee to the shipper within five (5) calendar days of delivery
    2. All items in question must be kept in their original cartons and at the original delivery point for inspection by the carrier
  2. If notified, Howard will provide reasonable assistance to the purchaser with respect to processing the claim
  3. If notified, Howard will provide reasonable assistance to the purchaser with respect to processing the claim

The Howard Medical Warranty does not cover damage, defects, or operational malfunction of the product due to or caused by abuse, accident, misuse, negligence, physical damage, Act of God, failure to follow proper instructions and guidelines, unauthorized service or repair, damage from electrical power problems, shipping damage, failure to perform preventive maintenance, damage from computer and computer peripherals, and product modification.

  • To activate the Retrofit Kit's Limited Warranty, the Retrofit Kit must be registered with the cart on which it is installed within 60 days of the Retrofit Kit's Ship Date. The registration form may be obtained by contacting Technical Support at 1-888-323-3151.
  • This limited warranty does not apply to lithium power System retrofits, please see "Lithium Power System Retrofit Limited Warranty" for warranty information.

What Is Covered

Howard Medical, a division of Howard Industries, Inc., warrants its purchased parts to be free of defects in material and workmanship for a defined period of time from the ship date.
  • Medical Cart Parts [90-days]
  • Lithium Iron Phosphate battery [1-year]1
  • Seal Lead Acid battery [60-days]–Performance2
NOTE:
  •  Purchased parts are intended for use on Medical Carts only.
  • Lithium batteries purchased as a power system retrofit are covered under the Power System Retrofit Kit warranty.
  • Computers and computer peripherals are not included under this warranty.
  • The Howard Medical Warranty does not cover damage, defects, or operational malfunction of the product due to or caused by abuse, accident, misuse, negligence, physical damage, Act of God, failure to follow proper instructions and guidelines, unauthorized service or repair, damage from electrical power problems, shipping damage, failure to perform preventive maintenance, damage from computer and computer peripherals, and product modification.
  • Howard Medical Technical Support may request the customer to provide reasonable assistance during diagnosis.
  • Howard Medical Technical Support will provide a return shipping label for purposes of returning the faulty part.

Warranty Process

If during the warranty period the Howard Medical product proves to be defective under normal use, Howard Medical will work with the customer to resolve the issue utilizing our 3-step Customer Satisfaction Experience as outlined below:

1. Phone support (888-323-3151) 24/7 (excluding US holidays)
  • US Based, English speaking
  • Tiered phone support escalated to engineering, if needed 
If a Howard Medical Engineer cannot resolve the perceived issue, it is within Howard Medical's sole discretion to resolve the issue with one of, or a combination of the following actions:

  • Expedited Shipments
3. On-site Technician (when necessary)

Medical Cart Lithium Power System Retrofit Limited Warranty

What Is Covered

Howard Medical, a division of Howard Industries, Inc., warrants its lithium power system retrofit kits to be free of defects in material and workmanship for a defined period of time from the ship date.
  • Medical Cart Lithium Power System Retrofit Kit [3-years]1
NOTE:
  • Purchased retrofit kits are intended for use on Medical Carts only.
  • To activate the Retrofit Kit’s Limited Warranty, the Retrofit Kit must be registered with the cart on which it is installed within 60 days of the Retrofit Kit’s Ship Date. The registration form may be obtained by contacting Technical Support at 1-888-323-3151. For the Lithium Retrofit to be valid, both the cart and Power System's serial number must be registered.
  • Computers and computer peripherals are not included under this warranty. 
  • The Howard Medical Warranty does not cover damage, defects, or operational malfunction of the product due to or caused by abuse, accident, misuse, negligence, physical damage, Act of God, failure to follow proper instructions and guidelines, unauthorized service or repair, damage from electrical power problems, shipping damage, failure to perform preventive maintenance, damage from computer and computer peripherals, and product modification.
